Tenax targets Asian carbon fibre markets

30 September 2009, Tokyo - Toho Tenax Co. Ltd., the core company of the Teijin Group’s carbon fibres business, announced today that it will promote its high-performance Tenax carbon fibre products and ongoing expansion into Southeast Asia and India at JEC Composites Asia 2009.

JEC Composites Asia 2009, one of Asia’s major trade shows for composite materials, will be held at the Suntec Exhibition Center in Singapore from October 14 to 18. This is the first time for Toho Tenax to participate in JEC Composites Asia.

The Toho Tenax booth will feature PAN-based carbon fibre Tenax filaments, chopped fibres and woven fabrics as well as introduce end-use applications in the automotive, electronics, construction and civil engineering industries, where the excellent reinforcement properties of Tenax composite materials are used as high-performance substitutes for glass fibre, the company said today.

JEC Composites Asia was inaugurated last year as a major exhibition for the fast-growing composite industries of the Middle East, Asia Pacific, Australia and New Zealand. More than 300 leading players are expected to showcase innovative, cutting-edge technologies at the show.
