Lenzing nonwoven fibres debuts at Filtration 2009
12 November 2009 - Lenzing’s Nonwovens Business Unit is to exhibit
for the first time at the forthcoming Filtration event, which will take place in
Chicago from 17-19 November 2009.
“We have experienced
increasing interest in Lenzing Viscose and Tencel fibres for filtration
applications. The Filtration show provides an ideal platform for us to network
with existing customers and establish new relationships” said Chris Potter,
Business Manager Technical Products.
Lenzing’s Nonwovens business reinforces the demands of the
filtration industry by focusing on innovation in this area, the company says. “Continuous
product development enables us to tailor the properties of our fibres. In that
way optimized performance satisfies the individual requirements of our customers
and their customers,” adds Potter.
Lenzing says that being food grade, its Lenzing Viscose is
the established benchmark with a long history of use in food and beverage
filtration.
The company says that Tencel offers a new dimension in
filtration utilizing the fibre’s propensity to fibrillate. According to
Lenzing, the circular shaped microfibers deliver high efficiency filtration
without impairing operating performance. The end uses are numerous including
cigarette filter tips, automotive fuel and oil filters as well as industrial
air and liquid process filters, the company says.
