Allma CC3 Combi on show at Tire Technology 2010

22 December 2009, Arbon – Swiss textile machinery builder Oerlikon Saurer is to present its innovative Allma CC3 Combi machine with its unique two-for-one twisting package and assembling unit at the world's most important trade fair for the tyre and supply industry, which is taking place in Cologne from 9 to 11 February 2010.

According to Oerlikon Saurer, about two thirds of the world’s tyre cord production is made on Allma cabling and twisting systems. The company says that 165,000 cabling spindles in renowned companies are processing the full range of materials for top-quality tyre cord. With the Allma CC3 Combi, Allma Product Line offers the market's most advanced and successful cabling machine, the company claims.

Extended field of application

The Allma CC3 is equipped with a two-for-one package and assembling unit. In addition to cabling symmetrical 2-ply tyre cord, you can now twist single yarns and asymmetrical 2-ply constructions as well as symmetrical and asymmetrical 3-ply constructions according to the two-for-one twisting principle on the same machine. The new machine concept allows the yarn manufacturers to cover niches such as 1-ply, 3-ply or asymmetrical 2-ply with just one machine.

With the Allma CC3 Combi, 2-ply and 3-ply tyre cord, cap ply, chafer and other technical yarns can be very economically cabled or twisted as required in top quality on the same machine, Oerlikon Saurer says.

Energy efficient

According to Oerlikon saurer, with its future-oriented e-save technologies, the Allma CC3 Combi offers a reduction in energy consumption of more than 10% compared with competitor’s machines. The unique two for- one package allows for the processing of all materials including the delicate aramid and rayon with enormous economic advantages, the company says. This is also supported by the take-up speed of up to 120 m/min.

Oerlikon Sarer says that on the Allma CC3 Combi, changing to the new production process requires just a few easy steps. The company says its customers can compensate production fluctuations and optimally cover niche markets with just one machine. In addition, the high production flexibility guarantees the ideal capacity utilization of the machine, the company says.
