Essen hosts Composites Europe 2010

3 March 2010, Essen - The fifth edition of Composites Europe is to return to Essen, Germany in 2010 where it will be held parallel to the Aluminium World Fair from 14 to 16 September. 70% of exhibition space has already been sold and with more than 1000 exhibitors, jointly the events will provide the largest sales platform for lightweight construction in Europe.

Organiser Reed Exhibitions says that after four successful events, Composites Europe is proving to be the impulse giver for the composites industry in Europe. Having attracted 6120 trade visitors last year in Stuttgart, the trade fair has steadily grown since the first event in 2006. Almost every second visitor came from the automotive sector, followed by the aerospace, building and construction, ship and boat building, and wind power plant construction sectors, the organisers say.

According to Reed, six months before the trade fair opens, 70 percent of the exhibition area has already been booked. A large number of key players are said to have registered their participation, among them BASF, 3B Fibreglass from the Netherlands, US producer of resins AOC, German engineering company MAG and Italian engineering company Breton. For the first time, Europe’s largest supplier of carbon fibres Toho Tenax will present itself at the show.

Around 350 international exhibitors are expected in Essen to showcase their technologies and products around the entire value creation chain of fibre reinforced plastics. Once again, the AVK - Industrievereinigung Verstärkte Kunststoffe e.V. - International Conference will mark the beginning of this year’s trade fair.

Composites Europe is being organised by trade fair organiser Reed Exhibitions (who are also organising Aluminium, in cooperation with the European industry association EuCIA and the international specialist journal Reinforced Plastics.
