Performance Days and EuroSIMA confirm partnership

5 March 2010, Ismaning - After initial talks in Annecy, France and a meeting with EuroSIMA President and co-founder Fred Basse during the ISPO show in Munich, Performance Days functional fabrics roadshow and EuroSIMA have now confirmed their cooperation.

Both partners will promote and support each other and say they expect good synergy-effects from their partnership. Performance Days and the recently launched Outdoor Sports Valley in Annecy has also started to cooperate.

The next Performance Days will be held from 13 – 15 April in Munich, and 19 – 20 April in Annecy, France, showing the new fabric collections for both winter 2011/2012 and summer 2012.

EuroSIMA

EuroSIMA is the European Association of board sports industrials and was founded in 1999 by leading European surf brands like Rip Curl, Billabong, Quiksilver, Rusty, Gotcha and Hoff. In 2005 EuroSIMA opened its membership to other board sports besides surfing and established a Mountain Division.

Today EuroSIMA brings together nearly 100 members, providing them with innovation and market information and promoting them and board sports in general. The association also organizes many events like the International Surfing Day, the World Snowboard Day or the annual Snow Forum.

Outdoor Sports Valley

Outdoor Sports Valley is an association of sports and outdoor companies in the Annecy area, located in the French Alps. In competition with Munich and Pyeongchang the city of Annecy is bidding for the XXIII Olympic Winter Games in 2018.

Performance Days

Performance Days functional fabrics roadshow, ‘The trend fair where sportswear is made’, was launched by the Weichert Agencies in 2008. As the first and only event of its kind it is meant to be a platform specifically for functional fabrics, yarns, finishes and accessories for the sports and workwear market. The semi-annual trade fair is performed as a road show with a stop in Munich and a changing second location in other core-centres of European sportswear industry.

According to Weichert Agencies, trade visitors are fashion designers, product managers and decision makers of almost all European sports fashion brands and manufacturers of functional apparel. The timing of the road show fits perfect in the time schedule of the fashion and sports industry. Exactly at the right time in spring and autumn apparel manufacturers find the entire portfolio of high quality materials they need for sourcing nearly in front of their factory gate, for both winter and summer season, organisers say.

“A calm and concentrated workshop-like atmosphere distinguishes Performance Days from other sport- and textile trade fairs. So it is a perfect meeting point for the sportswear industry and a stage for trends and innovations,” says Weichert Agencies, adding:

“At the unique trend forum of Performance Days one gets a well-grounded and inspiring overview over the newest materials, trends and innovations of all participating exhibitors.”
