Date change for ISPO Beijing

Messe München International is moving ISPO Beijing to a time slot one month earlier than usual in 2015. This one-time change had to be made because of the Chinese New Year, which is celebrated during the usual date range for ISPO Beijing. Asia’s most powerful sports business platform will be held from 28-31 January 2015 at the China National Convention Center (CNCC) in Beijing.

TenCate Millenia fabrics selected by Dutch fire brigade

The Dutch Zaanstreek-Waterland fire brigade has opted for TenCate high-tech fabrics in their turnout gear. The protective materials from TenCate will be used in 800 new fire-fighting suits that will be supplied in partnership with the LHD Group in Germany. TenCate Millenia fabrics will be used for the lightweight outer shell, the protective thermal liner and reinforcement parts. The first 285 suits are expected to be delivered in July.

Greater focus on clothing industry at Texprocess 2015

The international textile and clothing industry will be presenting itself for the third time at Texprocess, the leading international trade fair for processing textile and flexible materials, that will be taking place from 4-7 May 2015 in Frankfurt. “Thanks to a clear increase in visitors and robust exhibitors’ figures, Texprocess continued to consolidate its position as a leading international trade fair in 2013,” said Detlef Braun, Member of the Executive Board of Messe Frankfurt.

It provides a summary of the actions taken by Italian textile machinery firms in the field of sustainability, in terms of savings in resources used during the textile production process. Climachill: Apparel that lowers body temperature

Adidas has launched a new cooling apparel technology called Climachill which incorporates an innovative knitted fabric with titanium and industry first 3D aluminium cooling sheres. The technology is said to provide an instant chilling sensation to help athletes' performance in warm conditions by lowering their body temperature so they can train harder, run longer, retain their focus and compete at the highest level. “At adidas we are constantly striving to create innovations to make the athlete comfortable so they can focus on performance,” said Heike Leibl, Senior Vice President of training at adidas. “The aluminium cooling spheres used in the Climachill range provide an instant chill effect to keep the athlete at their peak optimum temperature to perform at their best in any conditions.”

Groz-Beckert felting solutions at ITMA Asia + CITME 2014

Groz-Beckert, the leading provider of industrial machine needles, will be presenting its new products and service highlights at ITMA Asia + CITME trade fair that is due to be held in Shanghai, China, from 16-20 June. In the centre of Groz-Beckert’s show presence stands the TexCar – a Mercedes-Benz E-Class model that was rebuilt so that nearly all of the textiles used in its manufacture were laid open. This exhibit allows a free view of woven and knitted fabric, nonwovens and seams, and demonstrates the diversity of textile applications. The use of textiles goes beyond seat covers, carpets and car mats. They are also featured in safety equipment, such as airbag and safety belt, and under the hood and at the wheels.
