Being exclusively supported by the Chinese Outdoor Association (COA), Asia Outdoor is getting ready to celebrate its 10th anniversary in Nanjing from 23-26 July 2015.

Along many popular supporting programmes, this year’s Asia Outdoor will feature the first COA Outdoor Industry Summit with topics such as the new definition of outdoor stores and the future of professional sport events.

“Asia Outdoor is based on a strong partnership between the two exhibition centres in Nanjing and in Friedrichshafen. Since more than ten years we are proud of how close this partnership has become. We will continue to do all we can to support our colleagues in Nanjing and to continue to build upon the success story of the past ten years,” said Stefan Reisinger, Head of OutDoor/Eurobike at Messe Friedrichshafen.

“We are happy that the COA as important association realizes the value of a pure outdoor trade show and has committed itself to the outdoor scene and to our exhibition in Nanjing in particular.”

Growth and support

More than 500 outdoor brands have applied to exhibit at this year’s Asia Outdoor. The leading outdoor exhibition in China thus confirms once more the growth it has experienced over the last decade.

This year, Asia Outdoor has a strong partner at its side: The Chinese Outdoor Association with brand members such as Acanu, Discovery, Halti, Kailas, Leki, Lowa, Meindl, Mobi Garden, Northland, Scaler, Toread and Vaude.

The COA decided at its annual meeting to exclusively take part in Asia Outdoor. “We are united to promote the Chinese outdoor industry and look forward to the further development of Asia Outdoor,” said Sheng Faqiang, President of Toread.

COA Outdoor China summit

Asia Outdoor and the COA have worked closely together to establish the first COA Outdoor China summit, which will take place during Asia Outdoor this year.

At the summit, prominent topics and important issues of the Chinese Outdoor market, such as the future of outdoor stores and how sport events can be organized and designed specifically for a Chinese audience, will be discussed. The speakers feature representatives from Chinese outdoor brands.

The COA aims at establishing product quality tests for outdoor products as soon as possible. For this purpose, the leading Chinese brands hope to sign an agreement with an international testing organization during Asia Outdoor 2015. With environmental concerns becoming more and more important, the Chinese Outdoor Association seeks to include environment protection as they build a system of quality standards.
