Gerber Technology, a leader in integrated solutions for the apparel and industrial markets, has introduced AccuMark 10, featuring a fully integrated 3D solution for garment development and pattern making. The product will be available in the spring of 2015, with the 3D solution as an optional module.

The new version will allow designers to share 3D images and motion files, the company reports. Designers will have a real-life visualisation of designs and be able to make pattern corrections that can then be seen in 3D.

“AccuMark 10 will truly transform the pattern making process,” said Mary McFadden, Director, CAD Product Management at Gerber Technology. “This technology will bring a new level of efficiency and speed to design, and the optional 3D technology will fully integrate with our AccuMark software.”

“Gerber Technology recognises the impact 3D will have on the lives of its customers,” said Mike Elia, CEO Gerber Technology.

“3D will be a disruptive technology. Its applications are broad and will have an impact from the creative and garment development process to merchandising and e-commerce. But you can’t wear a digital garment. Our current breadth of technology positions us to lead the way in creating solutions for our customers with 3D, and enhancing the design process through automated manufacturing and full product line management.”

Fashion and apparel

Yunique Solutions, a business unit of Gerber Technology, has also announced the availability of YuniquePLM V6, updated to improve speed, efficiency and usability for the fashion and apparel industry.

“Our customers have truly helped us to drive the latest enhancements we made with the release of YuniquePLM V6,” said Bill Brewster, Yunique Solutions General Manager.

“The new development calendar and line planning functions are a direct result of customer input. We understand how essential these steps are in their workflow. In addition to these core functions, we also upgraded the user interface to reduce clicks and key strokes so our users can accomplish key tasks more quickly and efficiently.”

Long-term reliability

The company has also revealed its next generation pattern plotters, the GERBERplotter MP Series, engineered to ensure long-term reliability.

Constructed of high-grade aluminium and injection-moulded parts, all MP series components are designed for durability, even in the most challenging manufacturing environments. The MP Series’ design is said to minimise moving parts and uses optimised and consolidated circuitry, ensuring long term reliability while making it easy to service and maintain.

“We designed the MP Series plotter with the understanding that reliability is our customers’ number one concern,” said Ron Ellis, Senior Product Manager, Gerber Technology. “Through several unique and innovative engineering enhancements, we’ve created a plotter we know can withstand the stresses of a high-volume production environment for a very long time.”
