New Trick from X-Bionic

According to X-Bionic, the award winning sportswear manufacturer, its new collection is a new way to regulate the body temperature during an athletic performance, by tricking the heat receptors of the body. During normal thermoregulation the body temperature climbs steadily and has to reach a certain point for sensors in the back notify the brain via the spinal cord of the need for cooling through perspiration. The company has developed clothing with an insulation zone located on the spine, simulating overheating, which is said to provoke early sweat production in order to lower the body’s temperature.

According to X-Bionic, the award winning sportswear manufacturer, its new collection is a new way to regulate the body temperature during athletic performance, by tricking the heat receptors of the body.

During normal thermoregulation the body temperature climbs steadily and has to reach a certain point for  sensors in the back to notify the brain via the spinal cord of the need for cooling through perspiration.

The company has developed clothing with an insulation zone located on the spine, simulating  overheating, which is said to provoke  early sweat production in order to lower the body’s temperature.

Increased performance

With the new The Trick patented technology, which the company has just launched at Eurobike in Friedrichshafen, the body is expected to stay in its optimal performance zone because sweat production kicks in earlier.

The early onset of cooling quickly decreases the already low body temperature, which is said to allow athletes to protect their energy reserves and work to higher performance levels.

Optimal cooling

Another X-Bionic innovation, Thorny Devil Technology, has inherited the Thorny Devil’s system of water transporting channels on its body. These channels transport water from moisture and fog to the lizard’s mouth using capillary action.

The company translated this capillary effect to athletic apparel to strategically transport sweat to parts of the body in need of intense cooling.

Using Sweat Collectors to accumulate the sweat and move it to channels, so called Sweat Transporters, the technology is said to provide the optimal cooling of the body. With the specific developed material, sweat is expected to be transported quickly to the Sweat Distributors, finely ramified zones, directly on the muscle groups.

Proper ventilation

With the new Bike Pad Endurance4000FX, X-Bionic says it offers the perfect interface between the body and the bike. With an optimally integrated layered construction of knit and foam, the ergonomically formed pad is said to fit the body perfectly and take the pressure off blood vessels.

The outer layer made with 3D-AirDuct Struktur is designed to absorb sweat and then wick it away, allowing ventilation to flow around the entire area.

According to the company, The Bike Pad Endurance4000FX has good stretch properties and moves with the athlete’s every movement, distributing pressures across the 'backside' during cycling.
