Performance Fibers appoints new European president

Greg Vas Nunes has been appointed president of Performance Fibers EuropePerformance Fibers, the specialist manufacturer of industrial polyester fibres and fabrics with operations in the Americas, Europe and Asia, has announced the appointment of Greg Vas Nunes as President of Performance Fibers Europe. 

Mr Vas Nunes has already assumed the role from the end of February this year and will be based at the company's European Headquarters in Luxembourg.

Developing next-generation technologies and products for industry and consumer applications, from tyres and offshore mooring ropes to seat belts and sewing thread, Performance Fibers aims to drive innovation for local and global customers alike.

Vas Nunes, who has spent 10 years of his 31-year career in the fibres industry in three regions of the world with DuPont, Invista and Hyosung, says:  "I'm thrilled to be a part of the Performance Fibers organization and look forward to growing our European business with a lean manufacturing footprint that produces high quality products with a focus on delivering the greatest value offerings to the marketplace".

Performance Fibers will show some of its extensive product range at Techtextil in Frankfurt this month.    The US company, which is owned by Sun Capital, has a global presence with three factories in Europe (France and Germany), two in the USA, one in Mexico and two in Asia (China).

Performance Fibers' portfolio includes fibres and fabrics manufactured from PEN (polyethylene naphthalate), PET (polyethylene terephthalate), PEEK (polyetheretherketone), PBT (polybutylene terepthalate) and Nylon 6.
