The collaboration produced a women’s capsule collection highlighting Cordura brand’s new soft comfort fabrics. The collection will feature an anorak, top, and pants, and will be on display at the Outdoor Retailer show that takes place in Salt Lake City, from 5-8 August.

“The launch of Struktur Studio gives us another channel to achieve the goal that sparked Struktur Event,” said Michelle Rose, Design Director. “So many designers are struggling to see their visions realised. I wanted to raise the bar on what could be done without having it watered down, and working with these exciting new fabrics from the Cordura brand gave me the opportunity to create something that didn’t exist in the marketplace.”

Style, performance, and durability

The capsule, called the Cordura + Struktur Studio Collection, focuses on today’s modern active woman, who demands a perfect blend of style, performance, and durability, the company reports.

“I wanted to take what she loves about the current active and athletic styles, but drive it in an outdoor lifestyle direction,” said Rose. All three pieces blend fabrics from Cordura brand’s Naturalle, Ultralite, and Canvas collections, as well as its military-inspired Baselayer portfolio, with new laser-cut, bonded products from Bemis, such as EXOflex stretch overlay films, Flowfree breathable films, and adhesives that work great with natural fibres.

Collaboration

“As an ingredient fabric brand, we want to inspire designers to do more with the materials to make their fresh, creative ideas come to life,” said Cordura global brand director Cindy McNaull.

“This collaboration is the epitome of that mission. We not only had the honour of collaborating with one of the leading minds in the design community, but we were a part of creating something bigger –a gateway to forward-thinking design in the activewear apparel of today.”

Rose brought together additional key partners to drive the execution of the collection. She turned to Bemis technologies for their advanced construction techniques and materials, and the Youngone factory in Vietnam, whose experience in cut, sew, and bond construction was crucial to achieving the sophisticated design of the collection, the company reports.

Elevating level of design

“This project grew directly out of our collaboration with the Cordura brand at the Struktur Event conference,” said Struktur co-founder Sam Ward. “It gives us both a practical new opportunity for elevating the level of design in the outdoor industry while highlighting the collaborative process and teamwork it takes to bring design-driven projects like this to life.”

Struktur Studio is a new initiative from Michelle Rose and Sam Ward, co-founders of the Struktur Event design conference. Struktur Studio provides design services to the active, outdoor, and urban market.
