"Why re-invent the wheel? " - says high-tech textiles company Schoeller Technologies AG. The dynamic Swiss textiles company, which licences and markets successful new textile technologies developed by its parent company Schoeller Textil, says it can offer readymade solutions to a myriad of companies in a diverse range of industries.

According to Schoeller, recent developments such as its NanoSphere technology for example, have found their way into the harness and webbing industry and are used by forestry workers and window cleaners in their often dangerous working environments.

"Furniture upholstery for business premises and public seating areas also benefit from the high degree of dirt and water repellence offered by NanoSphere," says Schoeller.  Schoeller's two-fold sun protection ‘coldblack', which is said to be proving popular in the areas of sports, leisure and fashion after being only recently introduced, is said to be able to withstand industrial cleaning, offering good sun protection for additional sectors and applications this summer.

"At Techtextil, Schoeller Technologies will also demonstrate how brand logos are clearly identified as fakes or originals thanks to the company's DNA-tex technology. A further innovation on show will be the ‘energear' technology for textile prints. Equally exciting are hygienic down goods. Thanks to active>silver, there is a major reduction of unpleasant odours in such products as sleeping bags which generally are not so easy to launder. So therefore they don't just keep the user warm but also remain hygienically fresh," a Schoeller spokesperson said.

Schoeller says it will also show at Techtextil, the first applications from the USA of bacteria protection, dirt repellence and moisture management based on its 3XDRY technology. The company says this will demonstrate "the difference between everyday medical workwear and good medical workwear."
