Voormi, a leading precision knitter of domestically sourced precision blended merino-based textiles and apparel, has unveiled its Dual Surface UL Precision Blended Wool Technology.

This technology, a key building block of the new All-Season Lightweight Collection by Voormi, aims to leverage the brand’s precision blending capabilities to deliver a mix of ultra-lightweight fabric, performance moisture management, and durability.

Benefits

Known for the company’s innovations in precision blended wool for mountain professionals and outdoor pursuits, Voormi’s new Dual Surface UL Precision Blended Wool Technology is said to deliver a significantly lighter weight merino-based fabric without sacrificing durability or performance.

Voormi’s Dual Surface UL Technology locates a thin layer of moisture wicking polyester next-to-skin while maintaining merino wool dominance throughout the remainder of the fabric. Combined with new super light construction, Dual Surface UL is said to guarantee to deliver a high level of warm-weather comfort and all-season performance.

Technical characteristics

Dual Surface UL fabric weighs just under 100g/m2, making it 30-50 grams lighter than the leading ultra light merino fabrics currently on the market, the company explains.

“Our goal has always been to expand the performance possibilities of merino wool. We’re beyond thrilled with the results from our new Dual Surface UL Technology; it’s a fabric that is as comfortable on a boot pack as it is on the river,” said Timm Smith, Voormi’s Chief Marketing Officer.

The product is currently available in three styles:

Short Sleeve Tech-T

Featuring the company’s lightest and air permeable Dual Surface UL Precision Blended Wool, this versatile summer staple is made for warm weather days. Naturally UV protective, anti-microbial, and leveraging all the moisture managing wonders of wool, according to the manufacturer, this basic tee is made in the US exclusively from Rocky Mountain High Country Merino Wool.

Long Sleeve Tech-T

This versatile year-round staple aims to keep the wearer cool in the summer and warm and dry through the rest of the year. Naturally UV protective, anti-microbial, and leveraging all the moisture managing wonders of wool, this long-sleeve tee is fit for a variety of environments.

The product is also made in the United States exclusively from Rocky Mountain High Country Merino Wool.

Solarium Hoodie

Finally, the company presents its go-to summer long sleeve. Featuring the lightest and most breathable Dual Surface Precision Blended Wool (100 g/m2), the Solarium handles the height of the summer sun with as much poise as it does a crisp morning start, the company reports.

Thanks to the company’s proprietary precision blending process, the naturally UV protecting, thermally regulating Rocky Mountain High Country Merino wool is said to provide plenty of cover for the razor thin layer of moisture wicking synthetic fibres underneath.
