Graniteville installs state-of-the-art technical coatings line
30th October 2012, Greenville, SC
Graniteville Specialty Fabrics, a recognized leader in the production of specialty coatings and coated fabrics, has announced that it has purchased a state-of-the-art technical coatings line. The new high-speed equipment further expands the South Carolina based company’s capabilities by fully encompassing a broad range of width options in woven, knit, nonwovens and films.
Acquired from Zimmer America and Mascoe, main suppliers of this equipment, the new technical coating line is capable of 119 inch widths and utilizes advanced technology to precisely measure and control fabric. By working closely with the equipment sellers, Graniteville says it can produce the highest quality products with an enlightened approach to environmental impact and energy efficiency.
"This investment clearly reinforces Graniteville’s long-term commitment to being a leader and world-class provider of coated fabric and custom coatings to the industrial, military, commercial, and recreational market segments," said Jim Egan, president of Graniteville Specialty Fabrics.
Graniteville says its flexibility and broad range of unique capabilities place it at the top of the coated fabrics supply chain. The new coatings investment, the previously announced upgrade of Graniteville’s workhorse coating line, and other initiatives will enable Graniteville to better service customers.
“For more than 60 years, Graniteville Specialty Fabrics has been a recognized leader in coated fabrics, continually inventing and perfecting its coating methodology. Through innovative processes that combine modern chemistry and technology, Graniteville excels in the development and sourcing of custom coatings and creating specialized technical solutions to meet specific, and often unique, end-user requirements,” Graniteville said in a statement yesterday.
“As a premier specialty coatings provider, Graniteville takes great pride in the spirit of innovation, quality production, and a rigid commitment to protecting the environment,” the company said.
