Swiss Technology Award for iLoad

iLoad, the latest development from Swiss textile and technology specialist  Schoeller Textil AG, was recognized with the Swiss Technology Award in the segment ,Maturity Stage' at the Innovation Forum, held at the Novartis Campus in Basel on 3 November.

In a two-phase adjudication process, a high profile jury of experts carefully selected the three winners from among 96 applicants and awarded them Switzerland's leading technology and innovation prize. The Swiss Technology Award specifically promotes Swiss innovations distinguishing the most innovative and best companies and institutions in Switzerland each year.

Partners from the world of business as well as educational and promotional institutions support the awards. The Swiss Innovation Forum is organized primarily by The Swiss Economic Forum GmbH.

"The award winning iLoad technology recently took a prize in Germany as well," said a delighted Hans-Jürgen Hübner (left) and Theo Gaupp from Schoeller.

Schoeller Textil says holistic health is a major trend and it is becoming a key economic factor for many sectors and companies. The company has developed a new technology addressing improvement in such areas as wellbeing, prevention or therapy in the context of textiles. iLoad is a textile carrier material that can be individually loaded and regenerated with beneficial and therapeutic substances.

Additionally, the release of medicaments is also said to be possible with the iLoad-System. "iLoad is initially intended for use in ‘medical wellness', workwear and sports," explained Schoeller CEO, Hans-Jürgen Hübner.
