TeXtreme is an innovative, light and strong carbon fibre material with superior stability that is said to deliver increased power and greater precision control for squash players. “Prince is excited about the development of the new TeXtreme collection. We’re confident this line of racquets will help us to continue not only meeting the needs of every squash player at every level, but more importantly helping all players play better squash,” said Jon Ballardie, VP of Global Squash at Prince Global Sports.

“Prince is a company built upon pushing the boundaries of innovation for over 40 years, and with each and every technological advancement we have enhanced the performance of players of all ages and abilities. Our new TeXtreme collection is further proof of our ongoing commitment to innovation.”

Strong and lightweight

TeXtreme is based on spreading tows (yarns) into tapes that are weaved into a fabric. The fabric produced is much thinner than conventional carbon fibre fabrics, with straighter fibres that are said to optimize and strengthen the composite while delivering lighter weight.

Positioned in the upper hoop of the racquet at the 10 and 2 o'clock positions, TeXtreme is designed to reduce racquet head frame deformation. This results in superior torsional stability upon impact, creating a larger sweet spot for unparalleled power, response and accuracy for all squash players, the company reports.

Regarding the launch of the new series, Prince CEO Mike Ballardie said: “The TeXtreme line of racquets is another example of the Prince commitment to providing squash players around the world with the best technology to improve performance.”

Prince

Founded in 1970 by Robert H. McClure of Princeton, New Jersey, Prince Global Sports is the leading racquet sports company that places a focus on the research and development of game-changing product innovations in tennis and squash.

Today, the company engineers a wide range of products including racquets, footwear, balls, strings, grips, bags, team apparel, machines and accessories.

TeXtreme

TeXtreme Spread Tow reinforcements are used for making ultra-light composites. TeXtreme Technology is flexible and tow-size independent, which is said to enable the development of optimized reinforcement solutions tailor-made for specific application needs.

Utilization of TeXtreme Spread Tow carbon fabrics and carbon UD tapes by manufacturers of advanced aerospace, industrial and sports products confirms that 20-30% lighter composite parts can be produced with improved mechanical properties and superior surface smoothness, according to the manufacturer.

In addition to the use of TeXtreme in squash racquets, this innovative technology is widely used in Formula 1, NASCAR and America’s Cup racing, as well as in the manufacture of bicycles, golf shafts, ice hockey sticks, surfboards, rowing shells, skis, and snowboards.
