Nordson Corporation has invested nearly half a million dollars in global upgrades to their Industrial Coating customer demonstration labs in 2008. The company recently inaugurated their new customer lab near Shanghai, China with events and training for industry partners and customers. In addition to the recent opening in China, Nordson's Industrial Coating & Automotive Systems group has upgraded many of its laboratory and demonstration facilities worldwide.

In China, the 86,000-square-foot office facility houses 190 employees and operates as a Center of Excellence to demonstrate Nordson's capabilities to customers in the appliance, automotive, container, nonwovens, electronics, furniture and wood assembly, life science, packaging, powder and liquid painting, product assembly, and semiconductor industries located in both China and the broader Asia Pacific region. In addition to office space, Nordson also invested in upgrades to its Industrial Coatings & Automotive division's laboratory in China to enhance customer support and strengthen confidence in Nordson equipment purchases.

According to Bradley C. Davis, Asia Pacific Group Vice President, "These investments strongly support our long-term growth strategies and initiatives in the fast-growing markets of the Asia-Pacific region. The strength of our growing and experienced local organization in these areas, coupled with the world-class capabilities of our new facilities, allows Nordson to better serve our customers worldwide."

In addition to investments in China, Nordson recently invested in upgrades to lab facilities in Europe, Asia and Latin America. These include:

  • Erkrath, Germany: This Center of Excellence facility now features three new booths, including Nordson's cutting-edge technologies for powder coating - the Prodigy(TM) HDLV(TM) (High Density, Low Velocity) technology and ColorMax(R) booth, which offers four-minute color change capability.
  • Mexico City, Mexico: Upgraded to include the latest powder and liquid application technologies, this customer demonstration lab includes a ColorMax booth for quick-color change in powder applications, an iControl(R) integrated powder control system, the Prodigy(R) and Encore(TM) manual powder coating systems, and a Kinetix(R) electrostatic spray guns for liquid applications.
  • Bangalore, India: Here, Nordson strengthened its infrastructure by adding a substantial amount of space to its facilities in the Bommasandra Industrial Area. With 55,000 square feet of built area, the new facilities house expanded manufacturing, test laboratories and offices.

"Nordson's investments in customer demonstration labs around the world speak to our commitment to our customers and to those geographies that are growing very quickly," explains Doug Bloomfield, Vice President of Nordson's Industrial Coating & Automotive Systems Group. "Our customer demonstration labs give our customers an opportunity to verify their coating processes within our facilities. This gives them the utmost confidence that they can maintain the high level of quality in their processes that they require."

Nordson Corporation is one of the world's leading producers of precision dispensing equipment that applies adhesives, sealants and coatings to a broad range of consumer and industrial products during manufacturing operations. The company also manufactures equipment used in the testing and inspection of electronic components as well as technology-based systems used for curing and surface treatment processes.
