Futurotextiles 3 on the theme of the ultra-light

Futurortextiles is a avant-garde project, begun in 2006 . It brings together science, technology, design, fashion and art, all concerned by innovative textiles in such varied sectors as clothing, transport, sport, housing, architecture, geo-textiles, health and protection. After the success of the first two editions in 2006 in Lille and in 2008 in Courtrai, lille3000 is holding a new edition in 2012: Futurotextiles 3.

Presented as part of the Fantastic festival, its inauguration will coincide with that of CETI with an exhibition space of 1500 m² in which incredible materials such as microencapsulated lace and magnetic textiles will be on show, all based on the theme of ultra-lightness.

You will be able to juggle with clouds, experiment with unimaginable textiles (based on coffee or crystal), admire some incredible dresses such as Elisa Strozyk's wooden textiles, Helen Storey's "catalytic dress", Jum Nakao's paper and lace dress or Janaïna Milheiro's angel coat and see some outlandish objects like a violin made of flax or an inflatable surfboard and marvel at installations such as Carnovsky's chromatic metamorphoses.
