Oeko-Tex Textile Chemical Compliance Webinar

7 March 2017 , 12:00 EST, Switzerland

Chemical regulatory compliance is a complicated management issue for any manufacturer but especially for those in the textiles business. With expanding global supply chains, intricate bills of material, and ever-changing regulations, staying up to date to ensure compliance is not a simple task for any company, large or small. Add to that the requirement for transparency that stands up to NGO and customer scrutiny and it is no surprise that compliance plays an enormously critical role within industrial fabrics companies.

“Today’s complex textile supply chains can potentially create serious compliance issues for manufacturers, sourcers, brands, and retailers,” said Ben Mead, who represents Oeko-Tex in North America and will be presenting the webinar. “Even small breaches in compliance anywhere along the supply chain can result in serious business impacts and public relations nightmares for all the upstream companies. The good news is that there are resources and tools available to help companies manage compliance in ways that meet regulations but also enhance quality and protect their images in the marketplace.”

Third party, independent certification programmes are immensely valuable for managing chemical compliance. Mead will use the well-known Standard 100 by Oeko-Tex as a case study for how industrial fabrics companies are meeting global compliance requirements in an efficient and effective manner.
