Boss Green, a Hugo Boss golf and sportswear line is using Schoeller technologies’ 3XDRY finishing technology for golf trousers in its 2010 Spring-Summer Collection.

“Golfers out early in the dewy morning benefit from the high level of water resistance of this textile finish; for example when crossing wet fairways”, explains José Janga, Senior Head of Creative Management, Boss Green.

“Later, when the sun is beating down around midday, the ‘advanced moisture management’ helps cool the body down. Studies have shown that with a loss of moisture through perspiration of as low as 2% of body weight, performance capacity sinks by up to 20%. The result is a drop in stamina and concentration, which can negatively affect the score over 18 holes, as well as the enjoyment of the game,” adds Janga.

Boss Green is a men’s golf and sportswear collection in which classic cuts with fresh designs are said to be a new conception. The fine line between fashionable sportswear and sporty fashion-wear has dissolved, says Schoeller Technologies.

Schoeller Technologies says that its 3XDRY technology supports wellbeing on the course because perspiration is immediately transported away from the body and distributed over a wide area. As a result, the moisture can evaporate quickly, close to the body, the company says.

“This supports the body’s natural cooling function and therefore the wearer perspires less. Textiles with a 3XDRY finish also dry quicker after washing. The high level of functionality remains intact for well over 50 washing cycles and can be reactivated time and again through heat treatment (ironing or dryer),” Schoeller Technologies says.
