Coolcore's patented, chemical-free fabric technology utilizes a combination of fibres and cross-sections for achieving three specific functions: wicking, moisture transportation and controlling the rate at which the moisture evaporates from the garment for the cooling effect.

These components aim to help reduce the fabric's surface temperature hence lowering the skin's temperature which is key, the company reports.

Cooling technology

"The warmth of the summer definitely depletes energy needed to maximize performance in a race such as the NYC Triathlon. We felt the benefits of our products were perfectly suited to help these athletes achieve their personal athletic goals not only at this weekend's race but also on a day-to-day basis in training and in support of their active lives,” commented Kevin McCarthy, CEO/President of Coolcore, LLC.

“These amazing athletes are certainly very savvy about performance apparel and rely on the need for cooling features of our technology. For these reasons, Dr. Cool products powered by Coolcore are the perfect solution.”

"We are thrilled to have Dr. Cool, the leader in chemical-free cooling fabrics, as the official provider of this year's race apparel. It's bound to be warm on the course, and whether you are participating, volunteering or spectating, everyone will need as much help as possible in dealing with the heat,” said Alexa Strobridge, Regional Brand Manager, Life Time Fitness.

Coolcore has various partnerships with brands to develop and commercialize their own finished goods that are powered by the patented Coolcore technology. The Dr. Cool brand also utilizes the Coolcore technology in producing finished consumer goods including accessories, towels, apparel and ice compression wraps.

Coolcore LLC

Coolcore, a leader in thermoregulation fabrics, aims to deliver three distinct functions through its patented, chemical-free Coolcore – wicking, moisture circulation and regulated evaporation. The company’s objective is to go beyond traditional moisture-management textiles by managing thermoregulation and reducing surface fabric temperature up to 30% lower than skin temperature when moisture is present.

Coolcore fabric formulations have earned the prestigious Innovative Technology recognition from the Hohenstein Institute, a first for a US company, and the only company to be awarded this recognition for Cooling Power. Coolcore also recently won the award for Best Innovation – Sports and Outdoor Apparel for its patented line of cooling fabrics from the ITMA Future Materials Awards.
