She also added that this year the focus will be on energy savings. The French manufacturers have worked very hard on energy savings, she commented. In many examples, the energy saving is in the 30-40 % range, same or even more for the water consumption in dyeing and finishing.

New techniques

The innovating range for the long fibre spinning industry includes new techniques to improve the quality, the operating and maintenance costs. For the twisting and texturing of yarns, the companies will explore the opportunity to develop high-tech yarns for traditional and technical applications, including the carpet industry.

Jacquard machines and dobbies developments to be showcased are said to make feasible spectacular increases in the speed of the production processes together with higher quality and more reliability. In new sectors of the textile industry, like the nonwoven processes, the French machinery is also at the pinpoint of innovation, the association reports.

Jacquard fabrics

For apparel, home textiles and technical textiles, Jacquard fabrics are very much in demand, the association believes.

Joseph - Marie Jacquard, born in Lyons (France) in 1792, revolutionised the technology. His focus on innovations and customer service are still the DNA of his distant successors, the French textile machinery manufacturers, the association claims.

Companies

The exhibition will feature the following French companies showcasing their innovative products:

  • NSC fibre to yarn that includes N.Schlumberger and Seydel trademarks will exhibit the ERA combing machine for producing high quality tops in wool, flax or delicate fibres, such as cashmere.
  • Laroche, the developer of the textile waste recycling technology, is also proposing complete turnkey Airlay nonwoven lines to process a wide variety of raw material producing a huge range of nonwoven felts.
  • Verdol will offer complete ranges of technologies and machinery for the processing of filament yarns.
  • Fil Control, well-known for its expertise in yarn sensors and electronic devices, will highlight the new MYT Sensor, suitable for high count and high tensioned yarns (500g to 5 000g).
  • Petit, the covering spindles manufacturer, provides genuine spare parts for fine yarn machines.
  • AESA Air Engineering, a leader in the field of industrial air conditioning, is specialised in spinning, weaving, man made fibre air conditioning and waste removal systems.
  • Superba, a leader in continuous heat-setting process with saturated steam of BCF carpet yarns, spun and wool blends, is providing a complete range of machines, including the new MF400 friezing machine and fully automatic winder – B401, all manufactured in France.
  • Dollfus & Muller, a manufacturer of dryer belts and endless felts for textile finishing factories, will exhibit compacting felts for knit finishing and printing dryer belts for printing, sanforizing felts for denim and woven fabrics finishing, decatizing felts for wool finishing, satin wrappers for wool finishing and tensionless dryer belts for knit finishing.
  • Stäubli’s manufactures shedding systems, cam motions, electronic dobbies and Jacquard machines for weaving machines. At ITMA Asia 2014 four complete Jacquard installations on weaving machines will be demonstrated.
