Some of the world’s leading companies are to discuss performance biopolymers, which reduce energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions, at ‘Innovation takes Root’ which is being held from 13 to 15 April 2010 at the Four Seasons Resort & Club in Dallas, Texas. More than 20 presentations from companies such as 3M, DuPont, Ford Motor Company, Frito Lay, Toray, and Toyota are anticipated.

Organiser Nature Works LLC, producer of Ingeo, a biopolymer made from non-oil renewable resources, says the event is a collaborative biopolymers forum for the global Ingeo community. Ingeo is made from dextrose which that is derived from field corn already grown for many industrial and functional end-uses.

Innovation Takes Root will cover recent advancements using Ingeo bioresin and manufactured fibres, including mechanical and thermal properties, surface modifications, additives, and polymer blends presentations on new consumer products, green marketing successes, and the latest in governmental initiatives workshops by industry leaders in life cycle analysis (LCA), and end-of-life treatments

According to Nature Works, everyone in any industry working towards lowering energy consumed and greenhouse gases emitted by oil-based plastics and synthetic fibres will want to attend Innovation Takes Root and learn more about the latest developments in Ingeo, one of the most widely applied biopolymers in the world.

“Building on the 2008 success of the world's first true technical conference in the biopolymer arena, Innovation Takes Root 2010 will broaden to provide a comprehensive forum for all things Ingeo including technology, applications, marketing and commercial developments,” Nature Works says.

New for 2010 are the latest commercial developments ‘from resin to retail’, new product launches, green marketing successes, latest developments in government initiatives and a series of pre-conference workshops led by industry experts.
