Aftera successful launch in the fashion segment, leading Italian producer of thermal insulation Thermore is now releasing its latest product, described by the manufacturer as a rolled free-fibre composite, to the active sportswear and outdoor market.

Inspired by the soft hand of the highest quality down feathers, Thermore EVOdown comprises of two external higher density layers that encapsulate the free fibres in the middle. The aim of this composite is to dramatically reduce clumping and fibre migration, ensuring a consistent, high thermal performance throughout the entire garment.

Enhancing the performance

The R&D Team at Thermore has been working on further enhancing the performance of EVOdown, which will be introduced globally during the forthcoming ISPO Munich exhibition and Outdoor Retailer trade show, set to take place in Salt Lake City, UT.

According to the manufacturer, the new outdoor version of Thermore EVOdown now offers an even better recovery and loft retention. EVOdown is said to offer the same volume and softness as the natural down, and since it is supplied in a traditional roll form, it can be used in the most cost competitive manner. The company also guarantees the consistency of availability of the product, as well as the security of being hypoallergenic.

The company has also completed the process of porting the EVOdown technology into all its Asian plants, thus making it globally available.

Bluesign approved

Recently there has been a lot of discussions about issues of traceability and origin of down and down alternatives, the company reports. According to Thermore, the company has always been committed to a cleaner environment, using only first grade raw materials.

Only few months after its launch, Thermore EVOdown has been fully Bluesign approved. In the beginning of this year the company has also been awarded Bluesign Certification for its Classic, Ecodown , Rinnova and Thermosoft  ranges.
