INDA, the Association of the Nonwoven Fabrics Industry, has announced that it is launching a new WIPES Academy training course that will provide comprehensive training to industry professionals focused on the wipes product and market sector.

The two-day WIPES Academy will feature training focused on every facet of this important market that garners US 6 billion in end-use sales in North America.

The course will detail wipes product materials and converting processes, and cover applications and influential issues such as regulations and flushability. The first session will take place from 8-9 October 2014 at INDA Headquarters in Cary, NC. 

Led by industry expert, Rob Johnson, of Smith, Johnson & Associates, this educational training will provide insights into raw materials and converting; wet and dry wipes; and medical, industrial, and consumer wipes.

The course will be covering the following areas:

  • Nonwoven substrates for wipes – materials and processes
  • Liquid ingredients from A to Z – anti-aging to zinc oxide
  • Wipes packaging
  • Wipes converting processes
  • Wipes development and manufacturing – bringing it all together
  • Cost-effective production and sustainability
  • Quality, stability and recalls
  • Market applications and statistics
  • Consumer/customer understanding
