The programme will include a morning workshop with reports and discussions from the industry’s regional and global representatives, and an opportunity for companies to exhibit their products and network with industry participants in the afternoon.

Promoting the development

The workshop is organised by the Asian Nonwoven Fabrics Association (ANFA), the Industry and Commerce Association of West Java Province and the Yangtze River Delta Nonwovens Industry Association (SYNIA).

Additional co-organisers include the Taiwan Nonwoven Fabrics Industry Association (TNFIA), the Hong Kong Nonwovens Association (HKNA), and UBM Indonesia.

ANFA and EDANA have a long history of working closely together. “We are very pleased to organise this ANFA Indonesia workshop in cooperation with EDANA. This will be the first international nonwovens event in Indonesia and it aims to promote the development of nonwovens and technical textiles industries in this country,” said Wang Yan-Xi the Chairman of ANFA.

Increased demand

Indonesia has a growing nonwovens and technical textiles sector, with a smooth transition of many producers willing to diversify from traditional textile production.

In recognition of the strength of the Indonesian market, demand from the local population, and interest from international trading partners, ANFA, as the representative of the nonwovens industry in Asia, is leading the development of this workshop.

Growing interest

“EDANA are proud supporters of this workshop. Our member companies have expressed their interest in the developments underway in Indonesia. We are aware of the Indonesian textile tradition, and therefore this workshop initially focuses on nonwovens and technical textiles but beyond these, we also look to the growing market for absorbent hygiene products and their supply chain, which could benefit from this workshop,” explained Pierre Wiertz, EDANA’s General Manager.

This is a first step and EDANA welcomes further opportunities to work with Indonesian representatives, such as via a fully-fledged conference, in order to support the sustainable development of the nonwovens and related industries.
