Formax to present portfolio of multiaxial reinforcements at Composites Engineering Show 2015

Formax, the manufacturer of carbon fibre and speciality composite reinforcements, will be showcasing a selection of their optimised multiaxial fabrics for the automotive, aerospace, marine, sports and industrial markets at the Composites Engineering Show in Birmingham, UK, this November.

Composites Engineering Show is a leading platform for all the suppliers and manufacturers to come together to discuss more about the composite design and manufacturing industries. The event features various discussions on composites, raw materials and semi finished products, composites design, analysis, simulation and processing technologies and more.

Exhibits

Samples on display will include +/-45 biaxial fabrics made from intermediate modulus carbon fibre for motorsports and sporting goods applications, and carbon fibre multiaxials specifically optimised for the resin infusion process.

The company will also be highlighting the capabilities on its recently opened Innovation Centre, where current areas of focus include fabric permeability testing, process simulation, automation of composites manufacture, and recycling.

At the exhibition Formax will also display:

  • aFORM, a range of +/-45 fabrics in weights of 150-300 g/m2 and optimised for a Class A surface finish
  • lightweight unidirectionals (UDs)
  • laminated veils for a Class A finish
  • lightweight 0/90 fabrics
  • balanced biaxials in weights from 200 g/m2
  • heavyweight glass multiaxials for infusion processes
  • +/-22 biaxials
