Li has over 20 years of experience in importing and exporting along with ten years of experience in product and raw material sourcing and purchasing.

She was recently employed by Industrial Fiber Sales International, Inc. of Atlanta, GA, managing synthetic raw materials sourcing and purchasing throughout the Asia-Pacific region. In addition, she managed the complete spectrum of plastic scrap and textile waste from sourcing of supplies through to final sales.

Leigh Fibers

Leigh Fibers is headquartered in Wellford, SC. For nearly 100 years, the company has manufactured, traded and reprocessed fibres and polymers worldwide.

Through sustainable product engineering, its branded products, and specialty fibres, the company aims to provide many industries with unique solutions to their specific problems. Since its beginning, Leigh has diverted more than 14 billion pounds of textile waste and by-products from landfills and is currently active in 25 countries around the world.

Applications

Over the years, Leigh Fibers has developed expertise in dozens of diverse industries. Some of the applications for the company’s re-processed natural and synthetic fibres include automotive, bedding, caskets, furniture, apparel, and more. Some of the more significant recent progress in textile technology has been made in the areas of filtration and absorption.

Using polyester, cotton, polypropylene and acrylic blend fibres, Leigh provides re-processed fibre for yarn-wound, canister (string) and pleat media filters for the filtration market. For absorption applications, Leigh provides re-processed fibres, such as cotton, wool and other cellulose and synthetic fibres that take advantage of the inherent capillary capabilities of natural fibres.

Leigh Fibers has also developed processes that convert para-aramids in both filament and fabric forms into usable fibres for carding/spinning, composite, pulp and wet laid applications. In addition, the company converts other aramids and fire-retardant materials back to fibre forms for use in nonwovens.
