According to Milliken its nonwovens help make bedding and furniture safer and more fire-resistant, automobile interiors more attractive, quieter and durable, and filtration more effective. With the acquisition of Kasbar, Milliken will expand its presence in nonwoven materials for the automotive market and add quilting and fiberfill capabilities for the fire-resistant furniture and bedding markets.

Kasbar’s products are used in a variety of industries, including apparel, footwear, protective clothing, military clothing, automotive, healthcare, filtration, furniture, bedding, and home products.

“By combining Kasbar’s technologies with Milliken’s long-standing commitment to innovation and sustainability, we can bring new solutions to the nonwovens industry,” said Jeff Shapiro, former chairman and CEO of Kasbar National Industries, Inc. “We are excited to be able to offer this, as well as new products, to Milliken.”

“Milliken has long provided innovations to make our automotive, furniture and other nonwovens customers more successful. The addition of the Kasbar product line will broaden our portfolio and deepen our relationship with our nonwovens customers, so we can better identify needs and bring customers a solution,” stated Dr. Joe Salley, president and CEO of Milliken. “We look forward to building on the foundation of success that Kasbar has built.”
