This constitutes a total of 23,000 items of clothing over a period of five years. The delivery of the fabric for the first 10,000 sets has already begun.

Selection process

From the different types of fabric from a number of manufacturers, the company selected TenCate Tecasafe Plus XL-9300. The selection process focused on performance levels of the product in terms of protection and wearer comfort.

Wearing trials in twelve European operations of Arkema had a positive result. Clothing manufacturers were then asked only to include this fabric in their tender. The French clothing manufacturer Mulliez-Flory emerged from this selection as the winner.

Production plans

The order involves approximately a total of 60,000 metres of TenCate Tecasafe Plus in 2014 and 2015. Of this, 35,000 meters have already been delivered to Mulliez-Flory.

The company will supply a large number of the operations of Arkema  at the beginning of September 2014 with 10,000 items of work clothing.

Fabrics for a second series of garments are expected to be delivered in the fourth quarter of this year. TenCate Tecasafe Plus satisfies a number of standards, including both European NEN-EN-ISO 11612, 1149-3 and 13034 type 6 and the North American NFPA 2112 standards for industrial use.
