Gaziantep, the centre of the Southeastern Turkey, is getting prepared to host the world’s textile and ready to  wear industries, at OTM 2014 Middle East Textile Machinery Exhibition, which expects to welcome local and international participants.

Tüyap Tüm Fuarcılık and Teknik Fuarcılık, which organised the ITM Texpo Eurasia, a textile machinery exhibition were partners at  a new meeting in Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia. The event is organised with the collaboration of the Gaziantep Chamber of Commerce.

Centre for investments

The OTM 2014 Middle East Textile Machinery Exhibition, which will bring the technology manufacturers of Turkey and the world together, will be held from 16-19 October 2014 in Gaziantep OrtadoÄŸu Fuar Merkezi.

The OTM 2014 Exhibition is expected to be a very important meeting in the region, where investments have increased in recent years. Political and economical decisions taken in recent years in Turkey made the Eastern and the Southeastern Anatolia regions centres of investment and organisers are keen to host an event there.

Investments in textiles have  started to be made in cities such as Adıyaman, Diyarbakır, Osmaniye, Åžanlıurfa, Mardin, Malatya and NiÄŸde besides Adana, Gaziantep, Kayseri and KahramanmaraÅŸ which organisers say are the most important textile cities of Turkey. Gaziantep, located in the important centre of this region, is said to have ideal features to host the most important textile and ready to wear manufacturer firms of the world.

Attracting interest

According to Teknik Fuarcılık and Tüyap, Gaziantep is the most suitable city in the region to host local and international participants as  it has become the economical and commercial centre of the region. The organisers believe the OTM 2014 will be very busy and successful, as they have already received satisfying number of applications from the ITM exhibitors who want to showcase their products at the show.

Manufacturers of yarn, fabric, knitting and finishing technologies in particular, are showing  great interest in the exhibition, organisers report. Moreover, textile and ready to wear unions of many countries have also applied to join the exhibition.
