Vita Nonwovens ceases EnGuard production

Vita Nonwovens is to discontinue production of its EnGuard GlassFree Insulation, a consumer ready wall and ceiling insulation batt. The strategic decision comes in an effort to refocus and prioritize opportunities elsewhere that will more efficiently enhance the company's growth and profitability.

EnGuard insulation products are said to offer an efficient and worry-free solution for insulating ‘the spaces in your life’. The product is manufactured from recycled plastic bottles and high performance polyester fibres, the same fibres found in baby diapers, apparel, bed linens, and upholstery, thereby making EnGuard safe to touch and safe to install. Vita Nonwovens describes EnGuard as being specifically engineered thermal and acoustic insulation that is environmentally safe.

Vita says it will continue to support the green building and construction markets as an OEM supplier in certain instances.  "The continued growth of the green building market may warrant another look at the viability of the product in the future," said Kevin Womble, Executive VP of Sales/Marketing, "but right now the economies of scale are not in our favour."

The North Carolina based company specializes in engineered applications utilizing nonwoven thermal bonded and mechanically entangled technologies. Each of Vita’s facilities is said to encompass innovation through engineering and implementation of some of the most technical and state-of-the-art production processes in the industry, placing the company at the forefront of quality aspects like: web density, thickness accuracy, blending and polymer science, permeability, absorption, and insulation.
