Bringing together Woolmark partners Jaspa Herington, H. Dawson and its subsidiaries The Woolroom, Bönning + Sommer and Wool Products Australia, The Woolmark Company made the Wool Arena the space where licensed co-exhibitors can market the natural benefits of wool and present their latest wool offerings to tens of thousands of trade visitors.

Versatile and reliable

Throughout decades of research, development and marketing The Woolmark Company aimed to affirm wool as one of the most versatile, practical and best-loved natural fibres – a fibre that is unparalleled when manufactured into affordable, sophisticated products with high-performance qualities.

Wool fabric will stand up to years of everyday wear and tear, making it the perfect choice for interior products including upholstery, carpets, floor coverings, curtains as well as sleepwear, blankets, cushions and throws, the company reports.

Ideal for bedding

Science is showing that, as well as being a natural, renewable and biodegradable fibre, wool bedding appears to promote a better night's sleep.

Consistent with earlier science findings, the early results from a study undertaken by the University of Sydney, Australia, are showing that wool sleeping apparel and bedding increases total sleep time, promotes sleep onset and improves sleep efficiency.

Spring/Summer trends

The Woolmark Company will also showcase the latest edition of The Wool Lab, dedicated to Spring/Summer 2016.

The Wool Lab is the result of extensive research undertaken by The Woolmark Company through its global network to select the best and most innovative wool fabrics and yarns worldwide and identify emerging trends.

Woolmark Licensing Program

The Woolmark Company's Woolmark Licensing Program has introduced changes to the specifications for Woolmark Blend in the interiors sector. The changes see a reduction of the minimum wool content for Interiors and floor covering products with the Woolmark Blend logo from 80%to 50%. This means the same minimum wool content for all product types using the Woolmark Blend logo.

“These changes to The Woolmark Company's Licensing Program represent positive movements in the wool industry,” commented Stuart McCullough, The Woolmark Company Managing Director.

“Interior companies worldwide will welcome the change for Woolmark Blend certification, reducing the minimum wool content to 50 per cent and streamlining this brand with the apparel sector. By reducing the minimum wool content it is hoped more interior companies will qualify to become Woolmark licensees and we will see more wool products on the shelf.”
