Unifi, Inc. today released
preliminary operating results for its fourth quarter and fiscal year ended June
27, 2010. For the 2010 fiscal year, net income was $10.7 million or $0.18 per
share, which represents the company's first profitable year since fiscal 2000
and an improvement of $59.7 million or $0.97 per share, from the prior year
period. Highlights for the 2010 fiscal year include:
Net sales increased by $63.1 million or 11.4 percent to
$616.8 million,
The 2011 edition of the
Techtextil North America Symposium will be held in conjunction with the western

The ninth annual INDA Award for
Lifetime Technical Achievement is to be presented to industry veteran Terry
Young of Procter & Gamble, while the coveted Lifetime Service Award will be
given to Jay Forcucci, of Nanostatics Corporation, at the inaugural Research,
Innovation & Science for Engineered Fabrics (RISE) Conference, which is
being held from 20-23 September in Baltimore, Maryland.

Belgium’s Ontex, one of Europe’s
leading private label hygienic disposables manufacturers, has been sold to GS
Capital Partners and investment funds managed by TPG Capital (TPG) for €1.2
billion. The deal, which is believed to be the largest ever private equity
transaction in Belgium and is subject to customary regulatory approvals, is
