Hologenix, the maker of Celliant responsive textile technology for apparel, bedding and veterinary products, will present its latest yarn technologies, including four new blends, at the Outdoor Retailer Winter Market that takes place from 21-24 January 2015 in Salt Lake City, UT.

The range to be shown includes Celliant Nylon, Celliant Dry Energy, Celliant Pima Cotton, and Celliant Merino.

Nylon Yarns

Hologenix, LLC, the producer of Celliant polyester infrared yarn technology, will now offer the company’s technology in three versatile nylon yarns (70D DTY, 40D FDY, 162D ATY) available from January 2015.

Celliant mineral based yarn creates IR light that penetrates into the muscle and tissue to increase circulation, which is said to lead to improved recovery and increased performance, according to the company.

Dry Energy Technology

Celliant yarns with patented drirelease technology have created Dry Energy Technology. The combination of Celliant, with its ability to break apart water molecules and energy enhancing properties and drirelease pulling moisture to the surface, is said to create a superior moisture management and performance system.

Celliant Pima Cotton

Celliant, along with The S Group, has developed a Celliant Pima Cotton through the Cofaco Industries mill in Peru.

The new intimate blend yarn combines the comfort of a natural fibre with the health and performance benefits of Celliant. Pima, featuring such properties as durability, long staple softness, and its ability to hold colour, makes a great addition to the Celliant fabric line up, the company reports.

Naturally soft and intended for base layers and active applications, this yarn combines the natural comfort and softness of Pima Cotton and Celliant in two fabrics: 50% Pima Cotton/50% Celliant and 47% Pima Cotton/47% Celliant/6% Spandex.

Celliant Merino

Celliant is developing a renewable and biodegradable Merino wool intimate yarn blend that will be available in the first quarter of 2015. The yarn will have all the proven attributes of Celliant combined with Merino wool’s softness next to the skin, breathability, anti-static property and odour resistance.

Wool is an efficient temperature regulator, retaining essential body heat when the weather is cold, while releasing heat and moisture when it’s hot. Merino combined with Celliant is said to increase circulation to make the body work more efficiently, creating a hybrid performance yarn for outdoor and athletic pursuits.

Celliant technology

Celliant’s patented technology harnesses and recycles the body’s natural energy through a range of yarns and fabrics. Celliant utilises a blend of thirteen minerals and proprietary ingredients that are embedded into the core of the fibres for performance yarns.

According to Celliant, energy in the form of heat produced by the wearer is transferred into infrared light (IR), which is then absorbed by the tissues and muscles. The company claims that when worn near the body during activity the Celliant yarns cause oxygen levels to increase, leading to better muscle recovery, heightened strength, body temperature regulation, and improved quality of sleep.
