Leigh Fibers appoints new COO

Darrell J. Turner has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Leigh Fibers, succeeding Keith Taylor. “Under Keith’s leadership, Leigh Fibers has been an innovator in fibre and textile reprocessing and a pioneer in repurposing materials that would otherwise have been landfilled,” said Turner. “I see tremendous opportunities ahead and I think we’re uniquely positioned to capitalize on them.” Taylor, who has been with the company for 37 years, will continue to consult with Leigh Fibers and will transition to its board of directors.

Darrell J. Turner has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Leigh Fibers, succeeding Keith Taylor.

Taylor, who has been with the company for 37 years, will continue to consult with Leigh Fibers and will transition to its board of directors.

New appointment

“Darrell’s enthusiasm and his experience in developing new products that utilise waste products will be great assets as we write the next chapter of the Leigh Fibers story, as will his success in global business development, especially in China and South America,” commented Taylor.

Darrell J. Turner has spent 25 years in the energy, waste and recycled materials industries.  He comes to Leigh from Headwaters, where his positions included Vice President and General Manager of the Energy Services Division. 

Before that he was President of Eagle North American, an environmental services firm, and held management positions with Waste Management, including technical director of the Clemson Technical Center.
