Macron chose the finest Italian traditions in selecting the yarn for an exclusive collection offering a single solution for a fashion garment with high technical performance.

Inspired by the research at Fulgar, the Q-Skin microfibre has anti-bacterial properties, cares for the skin and gives wearers exceptional breathability, freshness and comfort, the company reports.

High performance

“We’re always aiming at the best with our collections,” commented Francesco Intini, Marcon’s Global Sourcing & Accessories Manager. “And that’s why we have chosen Fulgar for cutting edge Q-Skin fibre, developed and produced in Italy – this means a constant search for the highest quality.”

The performance of the new fabrics convinced important international football and rugby clubs, like Aston Villa FC, Crystal Palace FC, Bolton Wanderers FC, Leeds Utd, Millwall FC and Wakefield Wildcats, whose players will be wearing the new Macron underwear line with Q-Skin by Fulgar for the season 2015-2016.

Q-Skin microfibre

Q-skin is a bacteriostatic polyamide 6.6 microfibre with silver ions directly inserted during the spinning process that is said to allow for natural bacterial balance of the skin with permanent effect. The microfibre can be found in hosiery, seamless, sportswear, active wear, and medical applications.

The product includes an anti-microbial agent to help cut unpleasant odours to a minimum. Thanks to the technology, the positively charged silver ions are entirely enclosed in the yarn, so the fabric can combat the growth of bacteria with a negative charge and maintain the natural bacterial balance.

Active sportswear

Macron is an Italian company based in Crespellano. It is a European leader in the production of active sportswear.
