Italian textile machinery manufacturers will be seeking new business opportunities at the upcoming CAITME-Central Asian International Textile Machinery Exhibition that will be held from 10-12 September in Tashkent.

ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, and the Italian Trade Agency have organised an Institutional Point at which four manufacturers will be present. These companies include Biancalani, Bonino, Ratti Luino and Stalam, and will be joined by other Italian exhibitors at the booths of corresponding local agents.

Primary manufacturer

“Uzbekistan has a centuries old tradition in the production and processing of cotton, ranking among the primary manufacturers and exporters of this raw material,” said Raffaella Carabelli, President of ACIMIT.

“In recent years, the local textile sector has initiated a deep-rooted restructuring in order to increase its production of locally produced cotton from 40% in 2012 to 70% by 2015.”

Advanced machinery

In 2013, Italian textile machinery manufacturers exported EUR 4 million worth of goods to Uzbekistan. These sales mostly concerned spinning machinery, amounting to 60% of the total, and weaving machinery, which constituted 12%.

“Many of the current projects in Uzbekistan concern the construction of industrial complexes that require technologically advanced machinery,” explained Raffaella Carabelli. “Visitors at CAITME will have an opportunity to ascertain the excellence of Italian technology.”

Italian textile machinery industry

ACIMIT represents an industrial sector comprising around 300 companies and producing machinery for an overall value of EUR 2.3 billion, with exports amounting to 84% of total sales.

Italian textile technology is sold in around 130 countries worldwide. According to the association, creativity, sustainable technology, reliability and quality are the characteristics which made Italy a global leader in the manufacturing of textile machinery.
