The company, formerly known as HOF Textiles Inc., has received a $50,000 grant from the One North Carolina Fund to help with the expansion. The plant currently employs 67 people.

Tenowo Lincolnton, which was founded in 1992 in Lincolnton, is a wholly owned subsidiary of the German Hoftex Group and specializes in functional and decorative nonwovens for automotive, industrial and apparel applications. Utilizing advanced proprietary manufacturing technologies, Tenowo Lincolnton Inc. is a leading supplier to global producers of high quality automotive components and apparel products.

“The expansion will allow Tenowo to double the capacity for high engineered nonwoven products for the North American automotive industry,” Lothar Hackler, president of Tenowo Inc., told Charlotte Business Journal.

The company also expanded the Lincolnton facility in 2010, spending $2.3 million on new equipment.

Hoftex Group AG is a collection of small to medium-sized businesses under the management of a holding company with a long tradition. Its Neue Baumwoll-Spinnerei Hof was founded in 1869. The group concentrates on the strategic business fields of yarns, fabrics, home decoration and nonwovens.
