Messe Frankfurt is expanding its Techtextil brand to the growing technical textile markets in the Middle East. After a successful few days earlier this year at Techtextil Frankfurt, UK-based Technical Absorbents Limited (TAL), a leader in superabsorbent product technologies, has opted to take a stand on the Techtextil pavilion at this inaugural event.

The Innovation Takes Root International Conference and Ingeo Users’ Forum, which will be taking place from 17-19 February in Orlando, Florida, has assembled a roster of speakers and developed an in-depth programme covering the latest innovations involving the world’s leading biopolymer – Ingeo.
“Innovation Takes Root is like no other conference because all the attendees and the sessions focus on a single, broadly applied performance bio material,” said NatureWorks President and CEO Marc Verbruggen. “This shared interest generates excitement and lively discussions all throughout the conference hall.”
Speakers represent more than 50 companies, including thought leaders from such organisations as 3M, Unilever, Danone, Lego, Kimberly-Clark, Kodak, the US Green Building Council, the Green Sports Alliance, Green Blue, and European Bioplastics.
It seems apt that the week in which the highly successful Composites Engineering show was held at the NEC in Birmingham, UK, culminated in the first BMW i3 electric cars being handed over to their first purchasers over in Munich in Germany.
Because the composites industry is currently in love with carbon.
IFAI, the Industrial Fabric Association International represents the interests of a broad range of industrial or technical textiles, producers and suppliers - and their Expo 2013, and the accompanying Advanced Textiles conference, held October 23-25 in Orlando, FL, well demonstrated those efforts. Doing trade shows and finding the next big is easy right? Not according to Bill Smith it’s not...
How do you do a trade show? Usually, one walks the aisle the first day, looking briefly at each booth and moves on if they don’t see at once anything new or of interest. All too often, I have known attendees do that, perhaps stopping at a few they came to see, and then go away saying “I didn’t see anything new or worthwhile”. Little do they realize what they may have missed, often spending thousands of dollars to travel and attend such a show only to get little or nothing out of them.
Messe Frankfurt is restructuring the Texprocess trade fair on the organisational side. Previously part of the ‘Technology & Production’ Division, it has been transferred to the ‘Textiles & Textile Technologies’ Division.
The leading international trade fair for processing textile and flexible materials has been organised by a separate team parallel to the work on Techtextil, the leading trade fair for technical textiles and nonwovens.
Both Techtextil and Texprocess will remain independent brands. Responsibility for the Texprocess brand will be assumed by Michael Jänecke, who has been in charge of the Techtextil brand since 1993.
International technology Group Andritz saw solid development in sales and order intake in a challenging economic environment in the third quarter of 2013, due to consolidation of the Schuler Group acquired in February of this year.
However, the EBITA declined substantially, mainly as a result of financial provisions in the Pulp & Paper business area, the group reports.
