Smart Fabrics takes place from 4-6 April in London

IntertechPira has announced that the agenda has been finalized for its Smart Fabrics 2011 conference. Taking place at the Hotel Russell in London, UK, from 4-6 April, the conference will feature two full days of presentation as well as a pre-conference seminar, and is expected to draw more than 150 participants.

“Smart Fabrics 2011 is a one-of-a-kind global event that unites the fashion, technology, electronics, research, academia, textile and diverse applications communities in one place to discuss the rapidly evolving industry,” Intertech Pira says. Topics to be covered at this year’s event include smart fabric technology advancements, the needs of the consumer and how to market and sell smart fabric technology to manufacturers.

“We have a dynamic line-up of speakers from around the world who will be presenting at this year’s Smart Fabrics conference, which will be chaired by Stacey Burr, CEO of Textronics and a V.P. at Adidas,” said Barbara Rojas, Senior Producer, IntertechPira. “Smart Fabrics 2011 will offer conference attendees a variety of perspectives on the industry with presentations from researchers and developers, designers and textile manufacturers, to name a few.”

The pre-conference seminar, ‘Fashion Phreaking’,  will be led by Nancy Tilbury of Nancy Tilbury Studios and Course Director of MA Fashion Laboratory, Kingston University London. The seminar will provide an interactive learning atmosphere for participants to examine ways in which smart fabric technology can be incorporated into cutting-edge fashion, with the finished products to be showcased in London storefronts.

The conference also includes an exhibit hall, which is available to all speakers and attendees. For more information about IntertechPira’s sponsorship and exhibit opportunities or any questions about the program, please contact Barbara Rojas at + 1 207 807 5749 or [email protected] .
