South Carolina Department of CommerceThe South Carolina Department of Commerce and Clarendon County today announced that Treleoni Group will establish a new nonwovens manufacturing facility in Clarendon County. The $7.75 million investment is expected to generate 100 new jobs.

"We are pleased to move forward with plans for Treleoni Group’s operations in Manning. Clarendon County provided us with an excellent environment in which to do business, and has a talented workforce that will benefit our operations. We look forward to bringing our new operations online," said David Poston, spokesman for Treleoni Group.

Treleoni Group is a start-up business that will manufacture non-woven products for specialty industrial markets. The company will locate its new facility in the former Yanagawa building in Manning, and expects to have operations online by late February.

“Start-ups such as Treleoni Group play a vital role in our state’s economy.  Today’s announcement is another indication that our state’s focus on the fundamentals such as keeping taxes and regulatory burdens low coupled with Clarendon County’s efforts to maintain a highly skilled workforce are the winning combination to attract new jobs and investment. We thank Treleoni Group for choosing to establish its new operations and create 100 new jobs in Clarendon County and wish them much success in their endeavors,” said Joe Taylor, Secretary of Commerce.

“On behalf of the county council, we welcome the Treleoni Group to Clarendon County. We also appreciate the work of John Truluck and the Clarendon County Development Board for recognizing the potential for the Yanagawa building and acting quickly.  This is some much needed good news for our citizens,” said Clarendon County Council Chairman Dwight Stewart.

“Treleoni’s announcement is exciting,” said Clarendon County Development Board Chairman John W. “Skip” Osborne. “They were able to see that the quality workforce and an incredible building paired up to make Clarendon County the best place to start their business.”
