The three Teijin products are Biofront, a highly heat-resistant advanced bioplastic; aramid fibre used in lightweight and highly protective clothing; and the PU_PA EV electronic vehicle, an ultra-lightweight low-impact concept car made with high-performance materials. Teijin believes the exhibit will help to communicate its dual commitments to technological innovation and environmental responsibility.

The Biofront exhibit will feature a gown designed by world-renowned fashion designer Hiroko Koshino. The fabric is an eco-friendly textile created by combining Biofront with the craftsmanship of Japan’s traditional Tango silk crepe fabric. Biofront gowns are lined-up to be worn by spouses of world leaders attending APEC Japan 2010.

Japan Experience will present world-class Japanese technologies and initiatives that reflect the core APEC themes of regional economic integration, new growth strategies and human security. Many of the exhibits will be viewed by heads of state, ministers, business leaders and media from the 21 APEC member economies attending the APEC events.

Based in Tokyo and Osaka, Japan, Teijin is a global technology-driven group operating in eight main fields: aramid fibres, carbon fibres, polyester fibres, plastics, films, medical & pharmaceuticals, fibre products marketing and IT businesses.
