Eurojersey, an Italian specialist in warp knit technical fabrics, will be participating at Première Vision, which will be held from 7-9 February 2017, with a new exposition space entirely revamped in its construction and style.

High tech influences, urban dynamism, sport city and a launching pad for The Sensitive Preformers Collection, the first capsule collection designed by François Girbaud and produced by Petratex, will be featured at the company’s booth.

A joint project that has shaped a collection, which incorporates a new approach, a new vision and new creations to support the dynamic lifestyle of today’s cities, represents three connective threads: functionality, well defined shapes, and an urban style. The collection consists of a series of modern, multi-purpose garments endowed with the comfort of innovative and high performing Sensitive Fabrics which are designed to offer easy to wash and wrinklefree properties, in addition to a modern-day take on the concept of “sport utility”.

Practical and safe

For the new Sensitive Fabrics capsule collection, François Girbaud takes a step back in time and symbolically portrays the legendary figure of Rosie The Riveter, the iconic image which used to appear on US government posters. The girl hard at work during the period of the Second World War helped redefine the role of women who were needed to carry on the factory work of men engaged on the battle fields. This strong and determined image continues to be a benchmark for the work clothes borrowed from men’s attire.

Garments, whose shape is inspired by this image, are interpreted in a sporty key to meet the requirements of cycling enthusiasts. Thanks to the use of Petratex technology, the trousers from the men’s and women’s lines are practical, comfortable and safe for inner city cycling, owing to the application of reflective strips on back pockets, wristbands or trouser bottoms, like in a Handle Bar item.

Aesthetics and functionality

Physical fitness, a modern-day value now part of our everyday lives, is increasingly reflected in our choice of clothing, with increasingly blurred boundaries between sports and casual apparel. The “modern hand-made technology”, in which needles and thread are superfluous, and pockets, formerly large and spacious, are flat and thermal welded inside and out, is perfectly expressed in the Container and Too-L garments.

Frequent recourse is being made to plastic surgery in the strive for a perfect figure and, likewise, clothing no longer performs a mere function, but has to perfect the silhouette and improve the appearance of its wearer. Preformer and Ventilateur pants have been created to achieve the same effect in a simpler and less radical way. They are designed to highlight feminine curves, with the addition of small silicone inserts to emulate the look of the iconic US models in vogue today.

Influences

“It is now common knowledge that the stylistic features of leisure wear have now abandoned the countryside and beaches to invade our city streets, just as the Tiki culture inspiring the pin-ups of the 50’s and 60’s still evokes the most profound, contemplative and philosophical aspects of the “surf” culture,” the company explains.

“Today’s surfing city-goers, now that they have left the waves for the city streets, have a computer and are tattooed to indicate their sense of belonging to an urban tribe or sports club. A series of influences recalling the colours of Paul Gauguin’s Polynesian paradise and the Easter Island statues, a primordial howl echoed in the prints of Activahiné, interpreted on T-shirts and inside trousers, is moved by a desire to live in harmony with the environment and at peace with oneself.”
