Horst Lüchinger earned large merits in organizing and establishing SSM’s presence in the Far East for more than sixteen years. The company has praised him for the services rendered, and especially for his energetic pursuit of sales lead all over Asia.

Sales and promotion

In his position Peter Spiller will be responsible for the sales and promotion of the well-known SSM products in the Far Eastern region.

After graduating as textile engineer from the College of Technology in Rapperswil, Switzerland, Mr Spiller joined Sulzer Rüti as design engineer. Later on he moved into sales, where his new function led him to various foreign assignments in the USA, Japan and South Africa. His long experience in the textile machinery area is an enrichment for SSM, the company reports.

Despite the competitive situation in the textile machinery business, SSM has been able to maintain its market leadership and to excel within the holding company Schweiter Technologies. The company aims to continue to strengthen its personnel, thereby retaining strong market position.

SSM AG

The Schärer, Schweiter and Mettler companies merged in 1989 to become SSM. In 1999, Stähle-Eltex and SSM merged to develop air texturing technology and to strengthen their leadership position in the marketplace.

With HACOBA as its partner, SSM is also able to offer a complete range of sewing thread finishing machines. The company can also offer a complete portfolio for processed yarns.

Since 2012, SSM Schärer Schweiter Mettler has taken over the activities of Giudici, Italy. Giudici’s strong market position in the field of false twist texturing of high quality fine count Nylon yarns, an application that complements SSM’s established leadership in air texturing, will further expand SSM’s business in the chemical fibre processing industry, the company believes.
