Crealet, a Swiss-based leader in electronically controlled warp let-off devices for narrow and wide weaving machines, is celebrating its tenth anniversary this year.

The company has expressed its gratitude to the employees for their efforts. It also thanked the company’s business partners for their close cooperation in economically difficult times.

Economic struggle

The company started at a time when the textile machinery industry was struggling in a difficult global economy climate and many countries were in a recession or close to it, Crealet reports.

According to the manufacturer, many companies were forced to confront their teams with restructuring measures, whilst it continued to support the weaving specialists.

Crealet’s main aim throughout the ten years of existence was to maintain a high level of flexibility, and respond to the market’s demands quickly. This, the company believes, allowed the company to work successfully in both economically good and bad times, focusing on practical and future-oriented solutions.

Back to the roots

The company celebrated the anniversary with a visit of its employees and business partners to the weaving machine collection of the former Maschinenfabrik Ruti AG.

The region has been shaped by the Maschinenfabrik Ruti, Crealet reports . In the early 19th century Ruti was one of the centres of the industrialisation in the South Eastern part of the canton of Zurich.

The weaving machine collection presents 59 looms and introduces the different weft insertion methods, including shuttle loom, projectile loom, rapier loom, air-jet loom and a multiphase loom.

Its foundation was laid in 1942 by the Maschinenfabrik Ruti. The oldest loom was built in 1860 and the latest dates back to 1996. Its main purpose was to inspire the designers for new ideas and designs.
