New president for ACIMIT

At an assembly held on 24 June, ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, has appointed Raffaella Carabelli as its president, replacing outgoing president Sandro Salmoiraghi.

At an assembly held on 24 June, ACIMIT, the Association of Italian Textile Machinery Manufacturers, has appointed Raffaella Carabelli as its president, replacing outgoing president Sandro Salmoiraghi.

Raffaella Carabelli was born in Sorengo, Switzerland. After earning her degree in Business Administration from Milan’s L. Bocconi University, she took her place in the family’s business, Fadis S.p.A., a manufacturer of yarn processing machinery, overseeing its sales management operations.

Mrs Carabelli has been a member of ACIMIT’s Board of Directors since 2005, serving as the association’s vice president since 2009. She is ACIMIT’s representative at ITMF, the International Federation of Textile Manufacturers, and is a member of the Italian delegation at CEMATEX, the Committee of European Textile Machinery Associations.

Following Mrs Carabelli’s election, the assembly expressed its warm gratitude to its outgoing president, Sandro Salmoiraghi, who guided ACIMIT with enthusiasm and professionalism for four years.

ACIMIT

ACIMIT is a private non-profit body and its main purpose is to  promotethe Italian textile machinery sector and in supporting its activity, mainly abroad.

In order to do that, ACIMIT providesinformation on the activity of the producers and organises a wide range of promotional activities, often in collaboration with ICE (Italian Trade Commission).

Another major aim of the association is to inform  its member companies about commercial, financial and technical problems in  different markets in order to facilitate market entry.
