Switzerland based SSM AG, the inventor of the electronic yarn traverse system, attended four exhibitions this autumn, exhibiting its latest winding solutions which were well received by visitors.

Shows include CAITME in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, CINTE in Shanghai, China that both took place this September, as well as OTM in Gaziantep, Turkey, and IGATEX in Lahore, Pakistan, that were held last month.

Large interest

The exhibitions were visited as expected and SSM can look back to many good visits and discussions with their valuable customers, the company reports.

New solutions for cost effective winding and yarn processing were shown, attracting strong interest. The company believes that the overall success at the exhibitions demonstrates that its product portfolio is in line with tomorrow’s requirements of the textile market.

Machines for the following applications were on display at OTM in Turkey:

  • Dyeing/Rewinding: PW3-W
  • Assembly winding: DP5-D

Flexibility and economics

In the fields of filament yarn dye package winding and rewinding the company offers SSM PW3-W DIGICONE fastflex precision package winder that is said to guarantee unchallenged flexibility and economics.

The SSM DP5-D DIGICONE fastflex precision assembly winder is said to offer a freely programmable thread laying unit, energy saving electronically controlled back pressure and the innovative control functions for the yarn tension allowing the winding parameters to be adapted as required.

Another feature of the DP5-D is made-to-measure cross wound package of highest density for long knot-free lengths.

SSM

The Schärer, Schweiter and Mettler companies merged in 1989 to become SSM and in 1999, Stähle-Eltex and SSM merged to develop air texturing technology and to strengthen their leadership position in the marketplace.

With HACOBA as its partner, SSM is able to offer a complete range of sewing thread finishing machines and the company can also offer a complete portfolio for processed yarns.

Since 2012, SSM Schärer Schweiter Mettler has taken over the activities of Giudici, Italy. Giudici’s strong market position in the field of false twist texturing of high quality fine count Nylon yarns, an application that complements SSM’s established leadership in air texturing, will further expand SSM’s business in the chemical fibre processing industry, the company believes.
