The company says it will electrify vehicles across all of its brands and across all segments and series, including in the near term, the i8 Roadster in 2018, a fully-electric Mini in 2019, a fully-electric X3 in 2020 and the fully-electric iNEXT in 2021.

“The BMW Group has a clear vision of how our customers in the premium segment will stay on the move after 2030,” said chairman of the board Harald Krüger during a conference announcing BMW’s record results for the first nine months of 2016. “Mobility will be autonomous, electric and fully connected and the trend towards sustainable mobility is irreversible."
