The event, which follows on from the last successful Sector Showcase event on Composites in Rail, will present ten companies working with fibre reinforced composites materials (FRPs) to an audience of specifiers, end users, researchers as well as wider industry representatives.

Latest developments

So far, it has confirmed that five companies will present their work in a morning session comprising of case study presentations, with these companies each having a table-top exhibition display, where delegates can spend the afternoon informally networking and asking questions.

There will also be a chance to catch up with the latest developments from the Hub Database – a Composites UK and National Composites Centre initiative to collate an accurate status of the UK composites industry.

Presenting companies currently include Aernnova, Combined Composite Technology, Sigmatex, TRB Lightweight Structures and Wartsila.

Successes and challenges

“The sector showcase events we organise are always well received by industry as they focus on successes and challenges each sector has with FRPs and recognises that these vary,” said Claire Whysall, Communications Manager for Composites UK.

“They are also a great place for those working with materials other than composites to come and learn more about FRPs, their properties and potential.”

There are four slots remaining for additional organisations to sign up to become a presenting company, where both members and non-members of the Association are welcome.
